EAR PIERCING
AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS

For Safe & Effective Healing it is vital that you faithfully follow all of the Piercing Aftercare Instructions listed below to promote the healing of your new piercing.

AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS

The healing period is a minimum of 6-months.

• Always cleanse hands prior to touching the piercing.
• Turn earrings completely around twice daily to prevent them from adhering to the ear. Do not
remove earrings.
• Cleanse the pierced area at least twice daily using a clean cotton swab soaking both sides of the ear with Inverness Ear Care Solution, which inhibits the growth of bacteria and promotes healing. Inverness Ear Care Solution has been specially formulated to provide the best and most effective aftercare for newly pierced ears. In the event that you have not purchased Inverness Ear Care Solution, you may use Isopropyl Alcohol as an alternative. However, this could result in irritation, stinging, and/or drying of the skin.
• Take extra care when removing clothing overhead or when brushing hair, so that jewelry does not get caught.
• Keep hair away from pierced area whenever possible during the healing period.
• Use clean towels and pillow cases so bacteria does not build up on the fabric.
• Clean jewelry after using beauty products that come close to the piercing area such as shampoo, conditioner, hair oil, makeup, hair spray, toning mist, perfume, etc.
• Proceed with caution when participating in exercise, sports or play; and clean pierced area especially well following the use of hot tubs, saunas, pools, lakes, oceans, bathtubs, showers, etc.
• For the Ear Lobe leave the piercing jewelry in for at least 6-weeks before changing jewelry.
• For Helix and Nose piercing, leave the piercing jewelry in for a minimum of 12-weeks before changing jewelry. Available at select locations.
• If your piercing falls out, do not go longer than 24-hours during the healing period without wearing jewelry in your piercing to prevent the hole from closing; and always clean the jewelry with our prescribed aftercare solution before reinserting the jewelry back into the piercing.

Important: Pain, redness and swelling are not normal results of piercing and can lead to infection. Should pain, redness or swelling appear any time for a period of 24-hours after the piercing, remove the earring and see your physician immediately. This is especially urgent with cartilage piercing, as infections and/or complications can result.

Note: We are not responsible for lost earrings.
